Home of HOWTO: Sound mixing in software with JACK and oss2jack
This is just a "quick and dirty homepage" for my HOWTO. I posted a
HOWTO with this title to ubuntuformus.org. You can read it here:
[Dapper/Feisty] http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=208488
[Breezy] http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=695990&postcount=6
or here (copy from above on my server):

[Breezy] http://neogate.homelinux.org/howto-oss2jack/howto-breezy.html
To use this HOWTO you'll need the following (Debian/Ubuntu package) repository:
deb http://neogate.homelinux.org/debian feisty sound
or
deb http://neogate.homelinux.org/debian dapper sound
or
deb http://neogate.homelinux.org/debian breezy sound
Patch for WINE
This (section) is at least true for version 0.24 of oss2jack. My
repository for dapper contains version 0.25 and the author of oss2jack
says something about mixer support in 0.25. So you might need this
patch for the older oss2jack 0.24, only. I haven't tested 0.25
with WINE yet.
If you use WINE and want to have sound output, you'll need to patch
WINE (get the sources, apply the patch and compile it). Otherwise WINE
will fail, because oss2jack doesn't implement an OSS mixer device. You
can get the patch here: oss-no-mixer.diff
NOTE 1: This patch is for WINE version 0.9.6 . It might fail on newer/older versions.
NOTE 2: As far as I know, direct sound output to JACK is broken in WINE. At least it didn't work for me (with WINE version 0.9.6).
NOTE 3: I got that patch from the WINE devel mailing list. Here is the corresponding thread.
